Notes on transcription
- The entry is clear, with no substantial transcription uncertainty. The register page is headed 1851, but entries continue into 1852 without the printed heading being amended.
- This gives William an approximate birth year of 1797–1798, closely fitting the William Callister recorded as aged 50 at his marriage to Ann Quayle alias Hodgson on 5 November 1850. His death explains why Ann was widowed again by the time she married Patrick Kneale in 1855.
